Building With Sound
  • Building With Sound
  • This research project, still in development, is based on a theory that more harmonious music will translate to a more stable structure and vice versa. Each key on the piano would be represented by one module. The idea is that a user will hear what they are building as they build it. The end result should resemble the molecular make up of stable solids in nature.

In the prototypes seen here, there are two sets of octaves represented by varying lengths of either one or two nodes respectively. In music certain notes either completely clash or connect perfectly. The polarity of the magnets on the end of each node help to express this phenomenon.
